Title: Starting Seeds in the House
Post by: creekwoman on January 07, 2016, 10:47:44 AM
It won't be time to begin seed starting for another month, at least, but I've been looking through seed catalogs and making lists.  I don't garden like I used to but it's not spring if I don't have some ready to go out.

Is there anything nicer than the sun warmed soil sifting through your fingers after a long cold winter?  It makes me shiver just to think about it.

Anyone else looking forward to seed starting? :gspring1:

I think the end of Feb. into March is the time we are suppose to start seeds.

But with this crazy weather I don't know

I started reading this and thought... :uhoh: I need to water my succulents~! :1-giggle:
There are half-a-dozen of them that keep me company at my computer and they need such a little bit of water that I have to watch that I don't completely ignore them.

I'm dreaming of spring and looking at the seed catalogs, but don't know if I'll get much started inside. We have such a tiny space and with my craft supplies that I've been hoarding tucked in corners here and there, well there just isn't much room for plants. I have one tray that I'll probably start some lettuce and salad greens in early on but probably won't do that for another month or so. Then I hope to get a better start on our container garden than I did last year. I could have paved a four-lane highway to "hades" last year for all I got done. :gaah You know how "good intentions" are. :blush

Get your cattle-prod out in case I need motivation this year. LOL :1-giggle:

Of Course you don't have a cattle prod Chloe. I KNEW that.
Creekers has the cattle prod, YOU don't. :gfriends1:

Creek...! Oh CREEK~!  :tapfoot:
Will you explain to Chloe why she don't need a cattle prod, but you do?

Cattle prods are for naughty cattle.  My cows were good girls BUT once in awhile the big boy needed a little prodding.  Yep, we have a cattle prod but CL is a good girl so the cattle prod won't be needed Chloe unless............. :uhoh:

:uhoh: Creek, you don't suppose Chloe would use a cattle prod on the cotton & tobacco in Alabama ......do you?  :whisper: Maybe you'd better tell her what will happen if she uses the cattle prod on such as cotton and tobacco.

Just hearing the crackle from that cattle prod 10 feet away is enough to move ME~!  :whip:

Hmmm, being a corn and soybean farmer maybe the prod could pop some corn BUT would it smoke the tobacco?   :Uthink: Chloe?

Well Hum that wound be interesting to pop corn with  cattle prod.  :)  But I think to keep CL remembering when to start her seed and water her plants a good  :gpoke1: :gpoke1: :gpoke1: may do the trick. If not then Creek can use the cattle prod and I could use a tazzer  wouldn't that be a shocking awakening  :2funny:  :gfriends1: :gfriends1:

Hmm... I wonder what would happen if I turned the water sprayer on while those two are holding their cattle prods and tazers. LOL  Maybe nothing but it might surprise them. Old age and treachery will beat youth anyday.  :1-giggle:

Ladies, let's be friends, go in and have some popcorn and hot chocolate, whadda you say?
